In 1988, the College of Nursing, University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto (EERP-USP) was designated a Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO). This designation increased the visibility and participation of the College of Nursing at the national and international contexts, increasing the student demand for the graduate program.
The graduate program in Fundamental Nursing effectively contributes to the maintenance of such a designation enabling, through faculty members and students, increased exchange programs with international and national institutions.
The partnerships enable faculty members to realize postdoctoral programs; graduate students are allowed to undertake sandwich doctoral programs (partial doctoral fellowship), and visiting professors to participate in graduate courses, theses and dissertation defense, in research groups, and in the development of collaborative research.
