Welcome to the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing (EERP/USP).

EERP was created in 1953 and is recognized in the national and international scenario by training professionals of excellence and citizens committed to social development; by the development of research that enables contributions to the translation of scientific knowledge into practice; and by the extension activities to the community, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the population.

The offered Bachelor’s degree program and the Bachelor’s degree with a teaching diploma program value the interdisciplinarity and the early insertion of the student in the different scenarios of the practice in health and education. Students have opportunities to carry out research and community extension projects, international exchanges and participation in scientific events. For decades, courses have received the maximum evaluation in research of the Student Guide and thousands of nurses and researchers from Brazil and Latin American and African Portuguese speaking countries were graduated by this College.

EERP maintains partnerships with public and private institutions in the areas of health, basic and vocational education, which enable the continuous and updated exchange of experiences that add quality to the training of nurses.

From its privileged infrastructure, it is highlighted the Simulation Center for Nursing Practices, with didactic laboratories equipped with the latest generation of instruments and equipment for realistic simulation practices in the training and qualification of Nurses.

Five graduate programs, three of them with masters and doctoral programs, perform the training of masters and doctoral students: Fundamental Nursing and Public Health Nursing, both with grade 7 in the evaluation of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – CAPES; and Psychiatric Nursing, with grade 5. It is also offered the Master's Program in Nursing Technology and Innovation, with grade 4, and the Inter-institutional Doctoral Program in Nursing, developed jointly with the University of São Paulo, School of Nursing, with note 6. EERP has also trained master’s students and researchers for all geographic regions of Brazil and for more than 10 countries. Annually, students are selected to conduct international exchange programs in centers of excellence. Since 2016, there is a selection of students to participate in double degree programs.

The scientific research stands out for the excellence of the projects developed in the 44 groups and research centers, for the prizes received, and for obtaining financial resources from the funding agencies in Brazil and abroad.

EERP publishes the "Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem", classified in QUALIS/CAPES as stratum A1 and indexed in databases such as Web of Science, Medline, Scopus, LILACS and SciELO. It publishes studies of strong scientific evidence, of authors from different regions of the world. EERP also publishes the "SMAD Magazine", which has a relevant role in the publication of results of studies on mental health, alcohol and drugs.

Since 1988, EERP is a Collaborating Center of the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization for Nursing Research Development and has the important mission of developing and disseminating nursing and health knowledge that contributes to the scientific advance of the profession and with the improvement of health and of contributing to the training of nurses and researchers from other countries, especially Portuguese speakers. It is the only College of Nursing in Brazil, with such distinction.

Community extension activities are carried out through courses, advisory services, consultancy, event promotion, and assistance and educational projects aimed at specific groups, participation of professors in advisory or deliberative bodies in governmental and non-governmental institutions, collaborating for the establishment, implementation and evaluation of public health and education policies. These activities materialize the social commitment of this College.

The EERP hosts the Rho Upsilon Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, which aims to promote activities that stimulate interdisciplinary national and international exchange and serves as a space to discuss current and relevant issues for the profession.

For the development of its activities, EERP has qualified faculty members, with a minimum degree of Doctor, who work in the different specialties of nursing, in Basic, Applied and Human Sciences, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience. A skilled team of technical-administrative staff assists in the contribution of the necessary conditions to the development of teaching, research and community extension activities.
